HOUSES BECOME HOMES

Abandoned and discarded, this Craftsman style was easily renovated, including bringing back to life its original hardwood floors and overall charm.

Another abandoned and vandalized house was renovated to a modern home while retaining the historic connotations in the interior details and cedar shake exterior.

This cottage looked small and uninviting on the outside.  Removing the enclosed front porch , updating the windows, applying a new coat of paint, and a little bit of TLC to the yard greatly increased its curb appeal - it is now  a bright and airy modern cottage.  Inside was dark and gloomy. so the interior was fully updated and painted.  Without the enclosed porch the living room became bigger and brighter.

This house was a wreck inside and out.  Siding had been gouged and ripped off, floors were sagging and  window frames were rotten.  Inside paint was peeling and stained carpets had been lain over other stained carpet  or glued down to original hardwood floors.

The lot had been zoned commercial/residential and was renovated to be either a business or home.  It is set up beautifully to be a home office for an entrepreneur or independent contractor.

The old fashioned pine cabinets, checkered pattern counter tops, outdated lino and poor lighting were
replaced with stainless steel appliances, modern cabinets and counter tops and sleek tile on the floor.  Over head a large ceiling fans provides all directional lighting and ventilation,  making the space a joy to cook in.

Carpets were ripped up to reveal original hardwood flooring which was fully renovated and plywood wall coverings were removed and replaced with freshly painted drywall. These rooms were set up to show how easily the area could be used as professional office space.

Other areas of the house including the enclosed front sun porch, bathrooms, and bedrooms were renovated, painted, carpeted and new windows installed, to create a home.
